¨Since 2006, I have been drawn to illuminated manuscripts done in the 13th century where text was supplemented with flourishes, borders, and illustrations. These manuscripts and psalters were often used as a guide to prayer. In this series, I am portraying illuminated manuscripts in a conceptual context. I begin by reading the Psalm and carefully depict my interpretation through color and form while illuminating certain aspects with gold leaf. Even though the outcome of my manuscripts differ from the ones of the 13th century, the meticulous process and prayerful meaning remain the same¨. - Hannah Robinett
