Born in 1978 in West Palm Beach, FL, Aphrodite is an entirely self-taught painter. Raised in Athens, Greece, Aphrodite’s art process took twists and turns, uniquely exploring freedom of thought and healing through art expression. Highly introspective, her artworks offer a variety of approaches to abstract expression: clean and simple, yet bold with layers of complexity. Bravely expressing herself through painting Aphrodite adds meaning to her works of art that often echo the era of mid-century modern art. Reimagining geometric shapes or blocks of color, she aims to communicate a sense of movement to express a curious balance of emotions. Not afraid to explore and push herself, Aphrodite discovered her talent in painting and drawing later in life after building a successful career in business and marketing communications. Highly motivated, bi-cultural, and creatively driven, Aphrodite continues to grow as a local South Florida artist, focusing on learning from her community and creating her own style of art that features her signature “three white dots” on many of her paintings.
